Who can join DES?

If you have a disability, injury, or health condition that impacts how much you can work, you may be able to join Disability Employment Services (DES).

To be eligible, you must be:

  • living with a disability, injury, or health condition that affects your ability to work
  • an Australian resident aged from 14 to 67
  • at or above the minimum legal working age in your state or territory
  • receiving an income support payment or Disability Support Pension
  • able to work between eight to 30 hours per week (with support if needed)
  • not studying full time (unless you’re an eligible school leaver)
  • not already working at or above your assessed work capacity

You may also be eligible if you're an NDIS participant or a school leaver with disability.

Check you're eligible for DES - click register now below or call 1800 276 276.

How to register

You can register for DES by contacting a provider such as APM directly.

You can do this by visiting your nearest APM Employment Services office or call our friendly support team on 1800 276 276.

We can guide you through the process and tell you about the support you may be eligible to receive.

We’ll also let you know if you need to visit Centrelink for an Employment Services Assessment (ESAT).

This will let us know the type of support you need and help guide us on jobs you may be most suitable for.

You can also register by calling the Centrelink employment services line, 132 850, and asking to join APM Employment Services for DES.
