Red Nose thrives with inclusive hiring

That’s the experience of Alex from Red Nose who has partnered with APM Employment Services to bring multiple people into their team.

Eric, a recent employee supported by APM, has become a successful member of the workforce due to the inclusive hiring practices the organisation has adopted.

“If somebody thought it was too hard to take on somebody with a barrier to employment, I would probably ask them to go and look in the mirror and question as to why that may be,” says Alex.

“Because they're missing out big time on some of the most unique, diverse, hardworking and reliable team members.”

Alex was introduced to Eric through her local APM team who suggested he would be a great fit for her team.

Alex praised the team and their pre-screening support to help ease the process of hiring new people.

“They make sure that we get candidates that are the right fit for Red Noses values and they also help the candidates to complete all of our onboarding paperwork - which is quite a big task.”

“I have found so much more consistency and success taking on staff with barriers to employment through APM and it gives us genuine joy to watch them grow as people and to watch them blossom into their roles,” Alex adds.

Today Eric is a proud team member at Red Nose following several setbacks trying to find an employer who would give him a chance.

And Alex says she has been thrilled to play a role in helping Eric achieve his employment goals.

“Eric exudes enjoyment for his role. The potential in him was visible instantly, but I've certainly seen his confidence grow.  

“For me, I find it just absolutely delightful. And if we can offer that as employers, why wouldn't we?”
